Section C Assessment Ladder

Responses are graded holistically based on Strength, Integration, and Horticultural Knowledge.

Band 4: Fully Developed
12-15 Marks

Highly detailed, comprehensive, fully relevant response. Full integration/clear links demonstrated. Advanced current professional horticultural knowledge with consistent correct technical language.

Band 3: Reasonably Detailed
9-11 Marks

Mostly relevant observations. Secure evidence of integration. Current professional knowledge demonstrated most of the time with occasional minor errors.

Band 2: Basic (Rudimentary)
6-8 Marks

Some relevant observations but frequent lack of detail. Occasional integration but many areas overlooked. Professional knowledge demonstrated only some of the time.

Band 1: Undeveloped
0-5 Marks

Few relevant observations. Material largely irrelevant or incorrect. No or little evidence of correct integration. Poor explanations and lack of technical language.
